Bio

My dad passed away when I was 32 years old. 7 days before my 33rd birthday. As of this writing I am 64 years old. Many years have passed and there are times where tears still flow and my heart aches. On the night that my dad passed I said a prayer to God on my father's behalf. I will share that prayer below: June 17, 1987 Dear Lord, This morning you decided to bring home to you a man, a very special man. I do not understand your reasons for taking him, but I know they are just,, so I will accept it. But, before I let him go to you there are a few things you will need to know about him. I have known this man for almost 33 years. In that period of time I have felt his disappointment when I would take a left turn instead of a right while growing up, his pride when I set and accomplished my goals. I remember he used to say we thought he was the mean old man of Coolidge Street. In reality, he was a very strong and stern man, but also very loving, which gave him a special consistency while traveling down life's road. As a result, this man has been my role model throughout life and, as I now know, he will always be until I see him again. Lord, I know your intentions are to help me grow so I know that the hurting I feel now will pass but I also know I will always miss him as I do so much right now. Lord, I am going to ask you for a favor. If you would, please give a place so he can continue to watch over and guide me, to answer my questions as he has always done. For you see Lord, not only have you taken home a very special man, but you have taken my father.
