Services for Curry Jo Boesch, teacher and businesswoman, were held May 2, 2008 in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Andrew Pittman officiating. Burila in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mrs. Boesch was born July 21, 1924 in Mexia, TX, the daughter of Curry and Ethel McElroy. She attended Baylor University and Stephen F. Austin State University, where she earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees. In 1943, while at Baylor, she met Gus Boesch, an Aggie from Whitney, TX. They were married and moved to Lufkin during World War II. Mrs. Boesch taught school in the Lufkin ISD for 35 years, retiring in 1984. After retirement and the death of her husband, Gus, in 1990,she assumed proprietorship of Boesch Farm Realty, which she operated until the time of her death. She was a memer of Delta Kappa Gamma, Honorary Teachers Soriety, charter member of Lufkin Service League and The Sewing club. She was a member of First Baptist Church and sang in the choir for a long time. She loved music, travel, reading and had a wide variety of friends and interests. Survivors: Son and daughter-in-law, Gus and Martha Boesch of Claremont, California; nieces and nephews, Julie Castleberry, Jill Adams, both of Lufkin, Jan Showers and Steve Smith, both of Hillsboro; other family members and a host of friends. Pallbearers were: Cooper Castleberry, Trey Castleberry, David Bradford, Joe Taylor, Lawrence "Sparkey" Sparks and Jay Perry. Gipson Funeral Home, directors
