Brownsboro- Norma R. Baxley, 72, Brownsboro, formerly of Garland died Feb. 17, 2011 in Tyler. She was born May 25, 1938 in McKinney to the late Wallace and Alyne Jones Dillard. Norma resided in Garland 38 years before moving to Brownsboro in 2005. Following retirement from Rockwell International, she became a devoted caregiver for the elderly. She loved sewing book covers and making cd's as gifts for friends and acquaintances. Norma was an avid lover of blues music with a sizable library of her own. In honor of Norma's explicit instructions, her immediate family met on Jennings Mountain for a private burial without visitation or formal service. In lieu of flowers or memorials, Norma would want you to grab a friend or family, love and take them shopping in her memory. In her own words "let's go terrorize the malls today." She leaves a loving family that includes a son Marty Day and wife Kim, Brownsboro, daughter, Penney Nichols and husband Keith, Brownsboro, brother, Shorty Dillard, Princeton, grandchildren, Angela Day, Lacy Burkes and husband John, Dusty Nichols, great grandsons, Lane and Hunter.
