Funeral services for Beatrice Marie Rushin, 77, of Edgewood will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Shooks Chapel Cemetery with Joe Winchester, Archie Burnett, Joe Cagle, Bryce Edmonds, Cody Winchester and Scott Winchester serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mrs. Rushin passed away Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. She was born on March 31, 1933, in Brashear, the daughter of Bascom Thomas and Drotha (Patterson) Smith. She married David Rushin on on Sept. 1, 1951, in Brashear. He survives. Mrs. Rushin graduated from Cumby High School. She was a member of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Rushin was a homemaker who devoted her life to her family. Other survivors include one daughter, Debby Edmonds of Plano; two grandchildren, Stephanie Winchester and husband, Joe, of Burleson, and David Rushin of Atlanta; two great-grandchildren, Matthew David Winchester and Lilly Mae Winchester, both of Burleson; one sister, June Wilson and husband, Dave, of Campbell; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Donald Rushin who passed away in 1998; and one brother, Thomas Smith. Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
