Graveside services for C.L. "Buddy" May, 82, of Gainesville are set for 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011 at Valley View Cemetery, with Mr. Tim Stobaugh and Rev. Hubert Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Clement-Keel Funeral Home. C.L. "Buddy" May died Feb. 12, 2011 at Pecan Tree Health and Rehab. He was born June 23, 1928 in Durant, Okla. to Drew P. and Bernice Evans (Thacker) May. He married Margaret Louise Wilson Oct. 5, 1949 in Valley View. He was a member of the Custer City Baptist Church, and retired as chief clerk for the Santa Fe Railroad and graduated from Cleburne High School. Buddy loved to dance and enjoyed training horses and mules. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Vilot Hamilton. Mr. May is survived by his wife, Margaret May of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Gene W. and Penny May of Callisburg; granddaughter, Shelby May of Callisburg; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Nancy Thacker of Cleburne; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nephews and nieces. No visitation is planned. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cooke County Home Hospice, P.O. Box 936, Gainesville TX 76241.
