Courier (Waterloo, Iowa), Monday, April 23, 1923 Mrs. A. E. Bennett Hit By Auto and Killed Saturday Car Driven by Linden E. Bisbee Mangles Body at Franklin St. and Park Ave. Injuries received by Mrs. Alva E. Bennett, age 63, 1701 Lafayette street, when she was struck and run over by an automobile driven by Linden E. Bisbee, 459 Bartnober street, as she was crossing the intersection of Franklin street and Park avenue at 7:40 p. m. Saturday, were fatal within a few minutes . She died while being rushed to St. Francis hospital. . . . Three Children Are Living . Mary Jane Wilcox was born Feb. 15, 1860, in Alleghany [Allegany] county, N. Y. She was married to Alva E. Bennett, April 7 1878, at Wahoo, Neb. The couple came to Waterloo 33 years ago. Surviving are the husband and three children, Ernest H. Bennett and Mrs. Hazel Charles, at home, and Mrs. Mable Hoover, Fort Bliss, Tex. Six grandchildren are living. Decedent was a member of Grace M. E. church.
