Bio
Wilma Ruth Owens was born on All-Saints Day, 1 Nov 1961, to Marjorie Hammack and Clifton Cameron Owens in Seton Hospital, Austin, TX. She was the youngest of three children born to this union. Wilma was known for her determination, kindness and generosity to any she encountered. She raised her sons to put others before themselves, not in word, but by personally demonstrating care for the young and aged as a lifelong priority. A quite, shy person by nature, her children did not know until after her passing that she had moved into her grandmother's retirement home to serve as caregiver between her Junior & Senior year of high school. On 7 Jan 2000, she died with her father in a tragic vehicle accident on Hwy 71 outside of Austin, TX. She was survived by her three sons, Zebulon, Caleb, and Josiah, her beloved mother, Marjorie Hammack Owens, a brother, Clifton Ross Owens, and two sisters, Wanda Owens Mauldin of Austin, TX and Linda Owens DiPalma of Rahway, NJ. She was laid to rest among 5 generations of family in Wallace Mountain Cemetery - Dripping Springs.
