C. "Leon” Yates went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Dec. 9, 2016, at home in Frisco, Texas. Previously, he lived in Denton, Texas most of his adult life. He is a veteran of WW II and a member of Gateway Baptist Church in Denton, Texas. He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Yates of Frisco, Texas; three daughters: Linda Batchler and husband Bill of Ferris, Texas, Janice Yates Zimmerman of Frisco, Texas, Vickie Dobbs Stone and husband Allen of McKinney, Texas; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister, Alta Sanford; sister-in-law Ledean Yates; four nieces and nephews. Leon was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Earl Yates. Funeral arrangements are made through Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Denton. Family and friends are invited to visitation and funeral, at Gateway Baptist Church, 2401 N. Bell Avenue, Denton, TX 76209. Rev. Buddy Owens officiating. Visitation will be Dec. 12th, from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. with the funeral following at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery in Celina, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gateway Baptist Church Building Fund
