Bio
Funeral services for longtime Mancos resident Teresa Mary Malcolm will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the Mancos Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Reverend Bud Rousset will officiate. Visitation has been scheduled for Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Teresa was born Sept. 28, 1945, in Hennessey, Okla., the daughter of John and Mary (Pata) Harak. She passed away at her Mancos home on Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at the age of 65. On May 21, 1965, Teresa married James Roy Malcolm Jr. in Hennessey, Okla. A wonderful mother and grandmother, Teresa loved cooking, sewing and reading. She was always caring for others, and Teresa thought of others before herself. In her free time, Teresa enjoyed gardening. Surviving Teresa are her husband of 45 years, James "Jim" Malcolm of Mancos; and her children, Donna Rogers of Flagstaff, Ariz., Alan Malcolm and wife Angela of Delta, Colo., Roy Malcolm and wife Garlynn of Cortez, and Mike Malcolm of Phoenix, Ariz. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Josiah, Teresa, Montana, Anne, Adam, Arland, Austin, and Bryce; and her siblings, Matilda Muraska of Houston, Texas, Betty Mullit of Enid, Okla., and Laddie Harak of Hennessey, Okla. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her brother, Steven D. Harak.
