Bio

Daughter of Jan Nepomuk "John" Noska and Marie Hashovec Barbara met her future husband, Joe Novy (1881-1954), at a dance at one of the Czech fraternity halls located in Ennis. Joe and Barbara where married on January 21, 1906 in Ennis and established their home there. They had six children, one boy and five girls, Louise (1906-1983), Charles J (1908-1990), Lillie Mae (1909-1998), Barbara Alice (1911-1994), Christine (1913-2007), and Emma Jane (1914-1998). ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Ennis, Texas - Mrs. Joe Novy, 80, a native of Czechoslovakia and an Ennis resident for 64 years, died Tuesday at Ennis Municipal Hospital. Requium mass will be celebrated at St. John Catholic Church at 10 a. m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Myrtle Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ernest Slovak and Mrs. Emil Nesuda, both of Dallas. Dallas News 04-17-1968 ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ D. cert; parents: John Noska, Marie Haskovec.
