Spouse: Mary Elizabeth Belcher Mills OBITUARY: Dallas (TX) Morning News, The, December 28, 1936, II-6 Funeral services were pending Sunday for William Carroll Mills, 79, native of Dallas county who died at his home, 4229 Spring, Saturday afternoon. Mr. Mills father came to Texas in 1846 and located the site of the town of Rowlett. the family was waiting to cross the creek which is now known as Rowlett Creek, which was at floodstage. Liking the area where they were camped, the family settled there. Mr. Mills lived in the Rowlett community until he retired from farming ten years ago when he moved to his Dallas residence. Survivors include six sons, John Edwared, Thomas Andrew, Robert Quincey, James Riley, Henry Allison, and William H. Mills; three daughters, Mrs. Martha Jennings, Mrs. Margaret Kilpatrick and Mrs. Lydia Parker; a brother, Hank Mills, and a sister, Mrs. Matilda Coyle. OBITUARY: Garland News, January 5, 1937 Funeral services for William Carroll Mills, 79, a native of Dallas County, who died Saturday at his home, 429 Spring Avenue were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Mills Cemetery. Mr. Mills' father came to Texas in 1846 and settled on the site of the town of Rowlett. W.C. Mills lived there until ten years ago when he moved to Dallas and retired from farming. Surviving are six sons: John Edward, Thomas Andrew, Robert Quincey, James Riley, Henry Allison and William H. Mills; three daughters, Mrs. Martha Jennings, Mrs. Margaret Kilpatrick and Mrs. Lydia Parker; a brother, Hank Mills and a sister, Mrs. H. B. Coyle of this city.
