Company C. 40th Mississippi Infantry
He enlisted on April 28, 1862, age 17, at Atalla County, Mississippi for "3 years or the war". He was captured at Vicksburg, Mississippi on July 4, 1863 and later exchanged back to his regiment in December, 1863. His Father, Walter, son of James Thomas Mabry & Mollie Walker, enlisted in the Confederate States Army on 10 November 1863 at Enterprise, Mississippi. He was mustered as a private in Company G, 30th Mississippi Infantry. He was captured on 24 November 1863 at Battle of Lookout Mountain. He died as a prisoner of war at Rock Island Confederate Prison of diarrhea on 31 December 1863. Wilbourne also had two brothers who served, Ewing L. Mabry in Co. C. 40th Mississippi and William G. Mabry in the 15th Mississippi, Co. A.
