Death date on marker is incorrect ----------------------------------------------- Choynice – (Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish) – Funeral services for Theodore Mendyk, 90, of Ashton were held Saturday, May 17, in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Father Milan Kopushar offered the Requiem Mass. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Mendyk died Thursday at a Loup City hospital. He was born Sept. 27, 1878, at Paplin to Mr. and Mrs. Valentine Mendyk. On April 29, 1902, married Margaret Gappa. He farmed before retiring in Ashton several years ago. Survivors include a son, Louie of Omaha; and four daughters, Mr. Celia Peters of Ashton; Mrs. Bertha Wagner of Coucil Bluffs, Ia.; Mrs. Theresa Cavanaugh of Dexter, Mich.; and Mrs. Evelyn Gier of Omaha.
