Otto Maeker Services for Otto Maeker, 79, of Tyler will be held on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at 3:30 p.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Mark Braaten officiating. A private burial will be at Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Mr. Maeker passed away Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, at ETMC in Tyler. He was born Sept. 13, 1931, in Shiner to Otto Sr. and Minnie Pagel Maeker. He was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Tyler. Otto moved to the Tyler area in 1964 after living in Irving for 45 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Otto retired as an accountant in 1993 after working for several companies during his career. He coached girls' softball and took his daughter's softball team to a second-place state finish. Otto was preceded in death by parents and sister, Gladys Anders. He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 54 years, Helen Maeker of Tyler; daughters, Judy Maeker of Grapevine and Barbara Maeker of Las Vegas, Nev.; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, Tyler, 75703. If desired, memorials in honor of Otto Maeker may be made to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 4900 Kinsey Dr., Tyler, 75703. (Published in Tyler Morning Telegraph on February 4, 2011)
