Bio
Funeral services for Myrtle Johnson will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 5, 2011 in the Shady Grove Baptist Church of Pitkin with the Revs. Andrew Johnson and Winfred Belgard officiating. Committal services will follow in the Occupy #1 Cemetery under the guidance of White Oaks, Oakdale. Myrtle, 97, of Pitkin, entered eternal rest on Thursday, February 3, 2011 in the Allen Oaks Nursing Home. She was born on March 5, 1913 in Pitkin to the union of Peter Maricle and Permelia Perkins Maricle. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milburn Johnson; one son, Gerald Johnson; seven sisters, and five brothers. Those left to cherish her memory nephew and niece, Huel and Johnnie James of Glenmora; one granddaughter, Latreece Comeaux and husband, Gill of Rayne: three great-grandchildren, Kayley Meylian, Celie Meylian, and Allen Tyler; one great-great grandson, Tayte Meylian; and her special dog, Missy; along with a host of nephews, nieces and friends. Pallbearers to serve are Gill Comeaux, Tyler Meylain, Ray Anding, Andy Starnes, Wilburn Johnson and Walter Strother.
