BESSIE AGNES PLANKA, age 92 of Iowa Colony, Texas passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at her residence. Bessie was born on July 5, 1918 in East Bernard, Texas and was a lifetime resident of Iowa Colony. She was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manvel, Texas. Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Joseph Planka, Sr, grandsons, Frank Charles Planka, III, William Rose and great grandson, Shean Crawford. Bessie is survived by her daughters, Janet Rawlinson of New Caney, Texas, Geraldine Frank and husband, Jesse of Iowa Colony, Texas, Betty Ann Crawford of Iowa Colony, Texas, son, Frank Charles Planka and wife, Marjorie of Alvin, Texas, twelve grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, special friend and caretaker, Susan Ferraro of Manvel, Texas and numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, February 4, 2011 at Scott Funeral Home. The Rosary service will be recited at 7:00 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 6502 CR 48, Manvel, Texas with Father Vincent Dulock, C.S.B. celebrant. Interment will follow at Davis-Greenlawn Cemetery, Rosenberg, Texas. Arrangements under the direction of the Scott Family, 1421 East Hwy. 6, Alvin, Texas 77511.
