Bio

KEARNEY - John S. Czaplewski, 85, of Kearney died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, at Mount Carmel Keens Memorial Home. Memorial services were at Horner-Lieske-Horner Mortuary with the Rev. Matt Koperski officiating. Burial will be later. He was born Dec. 29, 1923, in Loup City to Joseph and Pauline (Mendyk) Czaplewski. Survivors include his sisters, Angie Bonczynski of Columbus and Magdline Dymek of Wood River; and numerous nieces and nephews. He attended Loup City High School. He worked for many contractors throughout Nebraska as a concrete finisher. He moved to Kearney in 2001. He enjoyed gardening, walking and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Leonard, Joe and Sylvester Czaplewski. Memorials are suggested to Mount Carmel Nursing Home
