Bio

Marvin "Clay” Chandler, 83, of McKinney, passed away May 31, 2006 in McKinney. He was born Jan. 4, 1923 in Weston to Marvin Monroe and Mary Margaret Mantooth. He was a member of the Chambersville Methodist Church and served in World War II under Gen. Patton in Company D 748 Tank Battalion. He was loved by everyone who knew him. He dearly loved children. He is survived by his son, Jerry W. Miller and wife, JoAnn of Richardson; daughter, Lynda Dailey and husband George, of Richardson; grandsons, Mason Miller and Brandon Miller and wife, Emily; stepgranddaughter Dana Thacker and husband, Mark; great granddaughters, Sarah and Elizabeth Thacker; sisters, Mary Rogers of Allen and Opal Lentz of Lewisville; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Cylistine in 2004, and five brothers, Ross, Jim, Arl, Fred and Tommy (Bud). Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Royce Littrell and Gerald Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Chambersville Cemetery. Visitation will 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 601 S. Tennessee St., McKinney.
