Bio

Norma Stara, 85, of David City, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at St. Joseph's Villa in David City. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Church with Fr. Bernard Kimminau officiating. Burial will be in the St. Francis (Center) Cemetery in rural David City. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Tuesday at Chermok Funeral Home and after 6 p.m. at St. Mary's Church, followed by a 7 p.m. PCCW rosary, also at the church. Additional viewing will be 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Survivors include her husband, Albin; children and spouses, Grayce (Victor) Lechtenberg, of West Lafayette, Ind., Jim (Donna) Stara, of David City, Aloha (Tom) Schmid, of Waco, Bonnie (Norman) Andrews, of Dwight; 16 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Gladyce Woita Lee, of Scottsdale, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to Aquinas High School or in care of the family. Chermok Funeral Home, of David City, is in charge of arrangements.
