Star Local News Published: Wednesday, January 19, 2011 1:05 PM CST Lucille Darlene Cullum Strome joined her loved ones in heaven on January 17, 2011, in Allen, Texas.She was born in the county of Graham, township of Happy in the state of Kansas on August 10, 1931, to Melvin and Genevieve Cullum. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Talco, Texas. She married Lyle D. Strome on September 15, 1959. She was a loving wife, a wonderful mother, and the best nana in the whole world. Lucille and Lyle made their home in Morris County, Kansas until 1975. Lucille was the owner and operator of the Town House Cafe in White City, Kansas. They moved to Texas in 1975 and resided in Texas until their passing. Lucille retired from Rader's Country Kitchen in Princeton, Texas in 1987 and resided in Mt. Pleasant until the death of her husband. She then became a resident of McKinney, Texas until the time of her passing. She leaves to cherish her memories: son James R. Cotter of Jesup, Georgia; daughter Bonnie and husband Phil Halliburton of Plano, Texas; daughter Cindy and husband Doyle Denison of McKinney, Texas and son Harry Cotter and wife Marsha of Princeton, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brother Marvin and wife Jeanette Cullum; sisters Shirley and Levi Williams, and sister Saundra Pruitt; and hundreds of friends, both in Kansas and Texas. She was preceded in death by her "honey," Lyle D. Strome; her mother and father, Melvin and Genevieve Cullum; two sisters; one brother; and one grandson, Ronnie. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2011, in the chapel of Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home in Princeton, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 20, 2011, in the chapel of Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 660 E. Princeton Drive, Princeton, Texas 75407 (972) 562-7788. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in Bridges Chapel Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Rev. Matt Brown will officiate.
