Bio

Edna Bowman Edna Ruth Bowman, 85, of Newport died at her home on Dec. 15, 1994. Mrs. Bowman was born in Medina, N.D. on April 19, 1909 to Jacob and Sophia Troutman Elssinger. She had lived in Newport for the past 43 years, and was a homemaker for most of her life. She married Russell W. Bowman in Yreka, Calif. on Nov. 15, 1951. Mrs. Bowman's survivors include her husband, and three sisters, Lorraine Campagna of Portland; Mildred Hoffman of Medina, and Penny Smith of Newport. The family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Lincoln County Hospice. A service will take place at 2 p.m. Monday at Bateman Funeral Home in Newport. Bateman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Newport News-Times, December 16, 1994
