Bio

Died peacefully January 27, 2011 at her residence at Nye Square Independent Living, 650 West 21st St, Apt 175, Fremont, NE 68025. Grace was born in Irvington, NE to Henry and Clara Petersen on December 27, 1908 and raised on the farm near Gretna, NE with her 2 siblings, Vera and Harvey. Her grandparents, Anton and Clara Schaefer were Homesteaders near Irvington. She is survived by her spouse of 59 years Alvin F. McGeorge; her 2 children; 4 step-children; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren. She attended Sanborn School-PS #21 Sarpy County and Technical High School, Omaha. She served as the housekeeper and cook for the Robert Herman Storz family for 42 years. She and her husband retired to Woodcliff Lakes near Fremont and a home on 102nd St in Rockbrook Village in Omaha. They traveled extensively to England, Europe, Canada, Hawaii and throughout the United States. Memorials may be sent to the Gretna Public Schools Foundation, 11717 South 216th Street, Gretna NE, 68028, 402-332-3265 in the name of the Kay Kolbo-Russell Memorial Scholarship and the Hazel Lyn Kolbo Memorial Scholarship. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be announced at a later date. Cremation at Kremer Funeral Home, Omaha. Interment, Forest Lawn Cemetery, Omaha.
