Bio
To this union 8 children were borne, four boys and four girls, one boy and one girl died some years ago. He came to Decatur County in l854, and settled on the farm where he died. He was loved by all who knew him; this was shown by the large crowd that was at his funeral. We will soon all be gone. We drop off one by one. Uncle ED as we always call him, has gone. We will all soon be there. A word to the children, be good to your mother, be kind to each other. He leaves a large circle of friends to mourn his loss with the widow and children. We laid his body away in the Mount Zion graveyard to wait the resurrection morn.
