The Decatur Daily -- Saturday, May 26, 2001 Darwin Sims Siniard 64, former educator ATHENS -- Funeral for Darwin Sims Siniard, 64, of Anderson will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. A. Ray Blankenship and the Rev. Mitchell McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Oakgrove Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. Mr. Siniard died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at his home. He was born May 8, 1937, in Limestone County. A member of Salem United Methodist Church, he was a graduate of Auburn University and the University of Georgia. He taught at Athens High School and was retired from West Limestone High School, where he was Future Farmers of America adviser. Survivors include his wife, Frances Siniard; three daughters, Venita McCurry and Rene McCormick, both of Anderson, and Adel Ward of Childersburg; and seven grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Chris Sims, Wayne Tosh, Howell Sims, Doug Poole, Jackie Siniard and Marvin Wilkerson. Memorials may be made to the playground fund at Salem United Methodist Church.
