BARNES McKinney Daily Courier-Gazette, Feb. 9, 1933 Interment At Walnut Grove Cemetery For McKinney Resident Funeral services for Thomas S. Barnes, 68, who died at his home, 1203 North West street at 9:45 Tuesday morning were held Wednesday afternoon at the Walnut Grove church conducted by Dr. E. O. Whitwell, pastor of the Central Presbyterian of this city and by Eld. R. H. Cowain, pastor of the First Presbyterian church. Interment followed in the cemetery at Walnut Grove. The Harris-Crouch funeral home had charge of funeral arrangements. Pallbearers were: R. E. (Bob) Gordon, Roy H. Broadman, Halshall S. Davis, Dowlen Davis, Pierce England, and Ollie Foster. The deceased was a native of Tennessee, being born in that state on April 18, 1864. However he had resided in Texas for the last fifty-six years, eighteen of which he spent in McKinney. He is survived by his wife and two sons, Warren S. Barnes of McKinney and Emmett Barnes of Sherman; one granddaughter, Dorothy Jean Barnes. He was well known here and had many friends.
