LA PLATA HOME PRESS, La Plata, Missouri July 12, 1934. HANNAH ARNOLD ---Hannah Grant Melvin, daughter of Jackson and Nancy Melvin, formerly of Warren County, Iowa, was born July 24, 1864 and closed her eyes in sleep following an illness of some sixteen and one half weeks, Wednesday morning, July 11, 1928, being at the time of her death sixty-four years and thirteen days. ---She was married to William Andrew Arnold in Iowa on July 10, 1881. They are the parents of the following children: Harmon Arnold of Snyder, Colorado, Mrs. W.C. Giberson of Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Viola Kirkman and Mrs. Bertha Overfelt of La Plata. There are six grandchildren. She also leaves one brother, M.M. Melvin of Merino, Colorado and a sister, Nannie Tygart of near Merino, the husband and the above named children and grandchildren and many friends are left to mourn her passing. ---Mrs. Arnold made a profession of faith at Elmer about two years ago. ---Funeral services were held from the Christian Church here at 2:00 today, conducted by Rev. R.R. Watts, pastor of the Baptist church. Interment was made in the La Plata cemetery by the side of her daughter, Mrs. Florence Archer who preceded her in death in 1921.
