Frank Galler Died Thursday Frank Galler, 87, of rural Elysian passed away Thursday, March 19, in St. Joseph's Hospital, Mankato, after an illness of six weeks. Mr. Galler, well known retired farmer, had been a lifelong resident of the Elysian and Janesville communities. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 21, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Elysian, with the Rev. John T. Brown officiating. Burial was in Calvary cemetery at Madison Lake. Pallbearers were Robert Wesley, Roland Wesley, Sylvester Wesley, Howard Anderson, Ernest Weber and Ollie Muellerleile. Frank Galler was born July 17, 1882, a son of Joseph and Catherine (Beran) Galler of the Madison Lake community. He attended rural schools and Mankato Commercial College. His marriage to Rose Wesley of the Elysian community took place here on June 5, 1929. A farmer all of his life, he retired in 1936 and the family moved to Janesville from the farm west of town, near Madison Lake. In 1968 Mr. and Mrs. Galler returned here to reside and had enjoyed their new home at Carpenter's point, Lake Francis, in rural Elysian. Surviving are his wife, Rose; three daughters, Mr. Ivo (Mary Helen) Kennedy of North Mankato, Mrs. Cyril (Louise) Hager of Lake Crystal and Mrs. John (Kathleen) Prehn of Waterville; three sons, Bernard of Hopkins, Gordon of rural Elysian and Lt. Joseph Galler of San Diego, Calif., who had been home to visit his father in the hospital in recent weeks; also 21 grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Leo Weber of Madison Lake and Mrs. Agnes Huebl of Mankato. Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother Joseph. Elysian Enterprise, March 26, 1970
