Florence Andregg Blum Staley, age 91 of Humansville, Missouri, formerly of Holden, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2011 at her residence. The Funeral Mass will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2011 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Holden with Father Peter M. Savidge officiating. The family will receive friends Friday at the church, one hour prior to the service. Paul Blum, James Quashnock, Brent Blum, Michael Blum, Bill Quashnock and Brian Francis will serve as pall bears. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Holden. Arrangements are under the direction of Williams Funeral Chapel of Holden. Florence Anna Andregg was born March 7, 1919 in Junction City, Kansas, the only daughter of Fredrick E. and Anna T. (Remm) Andregg. She was raised in Kansas City, where she graduated from Central High School. She was united in marriage to Joseph William Blum on Oct 7, 1939 in Kansas City. Joseph preceded her in death on April 3 1982. She later married Earl Staley on November 27, 1987 in Holden. Florence was employed by Hallmark Cards during the war years and later by KMBC in Kansas City. Upon moving to Dayton, Ohio she was employed by the Engineering Department at the University of Dayton. Florence had been a resident of Humansville for the past seven years. She was a longtime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Holden, and more recently, a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Humansville. She was an excellent seamstress and needleworker and an avid reader. Survivors include her husband, Earl of the home; a son, Paul E. Blum and his wife, Carol of Kansas City, and their children: Brent Blum and wife, Lynn of Euless, Texas; and Michael Blum and wife, Linda of Phoenix, Arizona; a daughter, Kathryn Quashnock and husband, James of Wichita Falls, Texas, and their children: Pamela Francis and husband, Brian of Burkburnett, Texas and Bill Quashnock and wife, Staci of Beaver Creek, Ohio; five great-grandchildren; a step daughter, Earlene Heironymus of Lee's Summit; two stepsons: Wesley Staley and wife, Rosie of Kansas City; and Leroy Staley and wife, Teresa of Weaubleau, Missouri; six step grandchildren, seven step great-grandchildren, two step great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Frances Andregg of Belton, Missouri. In addition to her husband Joseph, Florence was preceded in death by three brothers, Fredrick Orville Andregg, Robert Andregg and James Andregg. For those desiring, the family suggests contributions be made to Mt. Calvary Cemetery Association, in care of the funeral home.
