Bio

EAST CARBON--Catherine Evans Turner Monson, returned to her Heavenly Father August 15, 1999 in Castleview Hospital, Price, Utah, after a long illness. She was born November 18, 1919 in Sunnyside, Utah, daughter of Talisen Whimpey and Hannah Evans. She married Wade F. Turner on February 9, 1938 in Castle Dale, Utah. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 17, 1940. He died in a mining accident January 9, 1945. She married Ernest Y. "Bud" Monson on June 14, 1947. Survived by two sons and three daughters; Kenneth W. Turner, Littleton, CO; Mrs. Don (Doreen) Guymon, Vernal, UT; Sherilyn VanOtten, Sunnyside, UT; Ernest E. Monson, Welling, UT; Mrs. Dean (Pam) Simpson, Hayden, CO. 16 grandchildren, 18 Great grandchildren. Also survived by two brothers, Norman Evans of Oregon and Ronald Evans of East Carbon. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 19, 1999 at 11 a.m. in the East Carbon LDS Chapel. Friends may call at Fausett Mortuary in Price, Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Price City Cemetery. -Deseret News, Aug 18, 1999
