AMY MEARS Services for former Anadarko resident, Amy Annis Mears, 81, of Mountain View will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002 at Anadarko's Church of Christ with the minister Chuck Poulos, officiating. Mrs. Mears was born April 16, 1920 at Nacogdoches, Texas to Oliver Shook and Berter L. (Cook) Taylor and passed from this life on Monday, Jan. 21, 2002 in Chickasha following a 10 day illness. She and Eugene Mears were married on Nov. 4, 1940 in Anadarko. He preceded her in death Dec. 28, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Deloris Ann and Paula Faye; two grandchildren, Jacqueline Carol and Victor Brown; five brothers, Jim Taylor, Leroy Taylor, Bernerd 'Bunt' Taylor, and Glen Taylor; two sisters, Thelma 'Sis' McNamar and Aline Davis; two brothers-in-law, Ben Davis and Floyd 'Slim' McNamar; four sisters-in-law, Louise, Rena, Doris and Tempie Taylor and a son-in-law, Jackie Spray. Mrs. Mears grew up in Mountain View and Anadarko and graduated from Anadarko High School. She worked for Jay's Drive In, later Glen's Drive In and retired from the Anadarko Municipal Hospital after 20 years of employment. She later worked in Home Health Care. She had lived in Mountain View for the last five years. She loved to crochet, sew and do embroidery. She was a member of the Anadarko Church of Christ. Survivors include ten children; a sister-in-law, Edna Taylor of Albert; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many loving friends.
