Jan. 13, 1928 - Feb. 18, 2017 Mary Carolyn Brannon Goodrich Thaggard went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, February 18, 2017. She was born January 13, 1928 to Willie Mae Claxton and Phillip G. Brannon as the eldest of four children and is survived by her beloved sister, Rose Beard. She was married to Harvey Goodrich for 37 years and they had four children: Steve (Lewana) Goodrich, Judy (Mike) Napp, Phillip (Sheila) Goodrich, and Mary (Jim) Creamer. She adored her nine grandchildren: Stephen Goodrich, Joshua Dean Goodrich, Michael Napp, Susanna Napp Cole, Allie Goodrich, Brannon Goodrich, Daniel Smith, Scott Smith, and Ruth Smith; and her eleven great-grandchildren. She was married to Lindy Thaggard for 25 years later in life. She was a longtime member of Shadowlawn Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Satsuma and taught Sunday School for 60 years. She served on the Board of Directors for the Salvation Army. Visitation will be Sunday, February 19, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Celeste Road in Saraland. A graveside service will be held Monday, February 20, 2017 at 12 Noon at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in honor of Allie Goodrich to the Alabama Gulf Coast Chapter of the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, 3500 Blue Lake Drive, STE 225, Birmingham, AL 35243.
