Bio

John Slusher Sr. age 80, passed away peacefully at home in Everett, WA on Thursday, April 17, 2003. John was born February 27, 1923 in Fort Madison, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his son John Slusher Jr. and his grandson Gary D. Slusher. John served proudly in the US Navy during World War II on board the USS Marcasite PY-28. He was a man of integrity with strong beliefs and opinions. He frequently sent "Letters to the Editor" to the Everett Herald. He was an avid gardener who enjoyed taking walks to the park everyday. His family grieves his loss but knows that he in better place. A graveside service was held Saturday April 26, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Cypress Lawn, 1615 S.E. Everett Mall Way. A viewing for family and the friends was held Saturday April 26, 2003 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Purdy & Walters with Cassidy, 1702 Pacific Ave., Everett, WA.
