SIMMONS, James Joseph LCAP dated 3/31/1990 (contributed on Jan 1998 by Kim Bailey - [email protected] ) DeRidder - Funeral services for James Joseph Simmons, 91, will be at 10:30 a.m. today, March 31, in Beauregard-Vernon Funeral Home. The Rev. Logan Skiles will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mr. Simmons died at 3:50 a.m. Friday in the Merryville hospital. He was a lifelong resident of DeRidder where he had been a school teacher and principal for the Sugartown and Singer high schools. Survivors are three daughters, Bettie Jo Decker of DeRidder, and Marie Ann Cryer and Carolyn Sue Blackmon, both of Merryville; one brother, Jerry Simmons of Longville; one sister, Eugenia Green of DeRidder, and four grandchildren.
