GUSTINE, TX -- Robert Edgar Blue, 88, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 1997, at home. Graveside service: was at 2 p.m. Thursday in Union Cemetery, near Gustine. Officiating were George Tolbert and Dale Scott. Robert Edgar Blue was born June 7, 1908, in Comanche County, the son of Robert Ed and Cora Denny (Welch) Blue. He was married to Bessie Peterson on Nov. 8, 1931, in Comanche. Mr. Blue was a rancher-farmer and was a lifelong resident of Comanche County, in the Pettit and Gustine communities. He was a member of Gustine Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a grandson, David Robert Blue, in February 1987. Survivors: his wife of 65 years, Bessie Peterson Blue; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Shirley Blue and Bill and Corine Blue, all of Gustine; six grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren.
