Bio

Mrs. Mary Burleson, 75, wife of B. G. Burleson of Haleyville, died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at her residence after an illness of two weeks. Mrs. Burleson had been a resident of Haleyville for 15 years, moving from Winfield. She was a member of the Church of Christ for many years and was married to Mr. Burleson in 1888. Funeral services were held Thursday (today) at 2:00 p.m. at the South Haleyville Church of Christ. Survivors include the husband; three sons, J. F. and Raymond of Haleyville, B. F. of West Palm Beach, Florida; four daughers, Mrs. B. R. Mann and Mrs. Leslie Mitchell of Bear Creek, Mrs. W. J. Nelson, Phoenix, Arizona, and Mrs. S. L. Mays, Peoria, Arizona; 39 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Bro. J. L. Mann conducted the funeral service. Flower girls were Charlotte Burnett, Louise Butram, Mildred Mann, Clara Sue Burleson, Julia Rose Howell and Helen Perry. Pallbearers were Francis Loden, Ben Burleson, Howard Burleson, Morgan Mann, Theodus Mitchell, George Burleson, Johnnie Burleson, J. Z. Burleson, and Floyd Burleson.
