Bio

Randy Vrba, 56, of Waco, passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 11, 2011. Graveside funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday Jan. 14, at St. Martin's Cemetery in Tours. Randy was born Aug. 15, 1954, in Waco, to Eugene and Virginia Uptmor Vrba. He graduated from Midway High School in 1972. Randy was a true Texan. He loved to fish, and could Bar-B-Q the most tender brisket in the state. He collected baseball cards and followed all sports as a hobby. In his younger days, Randy could be found on the dance floor Saturday nights. This talent no doubt inspired his nickname "Disco Doyle". Randy married Liz Smith Oct. 15, 1988. He retired from Owens Illinois after many years of dedicated service. Randy was a kind man who will be remembered as a caring son, father, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed. Randy was preceded in death by his father, Eugene; and his brother, Terry. He is survived by his son, Matthew; and daughter, Michele, both of Lacy Lakeview; their mother, Liz Vrba: mother, Virginia Uptmor Vrba; sisters, Sandy Pulliam of Woodway, Debrorah and Robby Hillin of Valley Mills, and Lisa and David Choate of Dallas; brother, Gary and Denise Vrba of Gatesville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
