Bio

Mrs. Mary C. Goetsell, 77, a resident of Dallas for the last twenty-five years, died Saturday at her home, 3935 Lively Lane, after a long illness. Mrs. Goetsell, the widow of J.P. Goetsell, who died in 1936, was a native of Grand Prairie and had lived there until moving to Dallas in 1929. She was a member of the new St. Monica's Catholic parish in Walnut Hill. Surviving are a son L.L. Goetsell of Dallas; three daughters, Mrs. Boyd Ballard of Grand Prairie, Mrs. Inez Stansel and Mrs. J. R. Whisenant, both of Dallas; a sister Mrs. J.C. Taaffe of Grand Prairie; a brother, Dan O'Donnell of Waxahachie; twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 8 p.m. Sunday in the Poole Funeral Chapel, 437 West Jefferson. Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Mrs. Goetsell at 10 a.m. Monday in Church at the Immaculate Conception in Grand Prairie. The Rev. Hubert Neu will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Southland Cemetery in Grand Prairie.
