Frank Thompson died at his home in the Chester area on April 11 at the age of 63 years. He made his home with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. David Sugar. Frank and his wife (the late Jacqueline Hoskins) had made their home in the Guide Rock area a few years ago. The funeral was held in the funeral home at Superior on Thursday, April 13, with burial in the Guide Rock Cemetery. Three brothers and two sisters survive, Claude and Harold of Guide Rock, Leroy of Esbon, Kansas, Mrs. Loren Silsby of Belleville, Kansas and Mrs. Elta Marie Kennedy of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Frank Lewis Thompson, son of Winnie and Martha Thompson, was born on a farm south of Esbon, Kansas, April 27, 1914, and passed away at his home in Chester, Nebraska, April 11, 1978, two weeks before his 64th birthday. Frank attended Reagan and Kindler schools near Esbon. In 1929 he moved to Esbon with his parents. Shortly after this he started working for Jim Dutton on a farm north of Esbon. This association continued until 1947 when he moved to a rural area south of Guide Rock, Nebraska. On November 25, 1956 Frank and Jacqueline M. Hoskins were married in Esbon, Kansas. Their children were two daughters, one, Christina Louise, did not survive past infancy. Frank and Jacque lived in the Nebraska communities of Guide Rock, Bostwick, Byron and Kenesaw where he farmed and worked as a farm hand until four years ago when he retired due to poor health. Frank was honest, friendly and a hard worker. He enjoyed his work and was proud of being a farmer. He was devoted to his family and had many other relatives and friends with whom he shared many enjoyable hours. His life was saddened by the loss of his wife, who preceded him in death in March, 1976. He has made his home with his daughter and her husband in Red Cloud, Byron and Superior, Nebraska and since December, 1977 in Chester, Nebraska. During the last months of his life his greatest joy was in his year-old granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Sugars. Those who will miss him most are his daughter, Mary Sugars, her husband David, and Jennifer Lynn; his brothers Harold and Claud of Guide Rock, Nebraska, and Leroy of Esbon, Kansas; his sisters, Leta (Mrs. Loren) Silsby, Belleville, Kansas, and Elta Marie Kennedy, Cheyenne, Wyoming; his wife's parents, Mrs. Ethel Hoskins of Chester, Nebraska, and Charles Hoskins, Culbertson, Nebraska; and many other relatives and friends. Besides his wife and infant daughter, he was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Leonard. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 13, from the Megrue Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, with Rev. Loren Silsby officiating. Two vocal selections were sung by Carol Kindler and Earl Silsby accompanied by Mrs. Carlita Price.
