Her parents were Jobe Phillips and Mary “Polly” Kelly Phillips. Jobe and Mary were married on September 1, 1859 in Collin County, Texas. According to her Collin County, Texas, Marriage Index, 1800-2010 record, Susanah “Susie” Phillips married Joseph C. Coulson on October 11, 1885 in Collin County, Texas.
