ARCHER CITY — Anton John "Tony" Teichman, 95, of Scotland, Texas, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, in Wichita Falls. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Scotland with the Rev. David Kraeger officiating. Military burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery in Scotland under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City. Tony was born July 6, 1915 in Scotland to Ferdinand Teichman and Frances Zaskoda Teichman. He and Veronica "Fronie" Scheffe were married February 9, 1937 in Windthorst. She preceded him in death on Feb. 10, 1995, the day after they celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. Tony and Fronie lived in Wichita Falls for over forty years before returning to Scotland in 1983. Tony was a World War II veteran, serving as sergeant with the United States Army during the postwar occupation of Germany. He was a combination welder who repaired vehicles, razed buildings and cut through reinforcements. Upon discharge from the Army, Tony was a long time mechanic at Por-Boy Parts and Garage in Wichita Falls until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dominoes and sharing jokes and stories with friends and family. Tony was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, the Scotland Knights of Columbus, a life member of the Scotland-Wind-thorst Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Post # 2676, Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 41, and the Scotland Senior Citizens. Mr. Teichman was a mechanic at Por-Boy Parts and Garage in Wichita Falls. Survivors include two sons, Dale and David Teichman of Wichita Falls; brother, Hugo Teichman and sister, Helen Martinka, both of Scotland; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Vigil service and rosary will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
