Bio
Ruth Frances Floretta, 89, of Sheridan, Wyoming, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother died peacefully on June 7, 2008 at her residence. She will be missed by her family and friends. Ruth was born to Frank and Lillian Humes on November 19, 1918 in Custer County, Nebraska and was raiesed by her uncle and aunt, Bert and Ethel Hutt in Newcastle, Wyoming. Ruth went to Chillicothe College in Missouri where she graduated in 1939. Ruth moved to Sheridan in 1940 and met her lifelong love Miles Floretta when they were both working for Hammer's Inc. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family and doing her handicrafts and gardening. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Miles of Sheridan; her children, Karen Foutch of Carlton, WA, Mark Floretta of Florissant, MO, Paul Floretta of Ranchester, WY, David Floretta of Port Susan, WA; her nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Franklin Humes of Newcastle, WY, Jack Wilson of Mesquite, TX, Glen Hutt of Newcastle, WY and Margaret Shreve of Bullhead City, AZ; and many close friends, in particular the Zezas and McCallister families. Ruth was preceded in death by an infant son and siblings Robert and Ralph Humes and Ruby Zimmerman.
