Bio

WOLFE CITY — Bertha Mae Duncan, 90, of Honey Grove died Jan. 8, 2011, at the Honey Grove Nursing Center following a lengthy illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Monty Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Friday service. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. She was born Feb. 5, 1920, in Wolfe City, Fannin County, to Walter C. and Lola Carroll Smith. She married Glendon Bertdell Duncan in Greenville; he preceded her in death in February 1976. Mrs. Duncan worked as a seamstress for a clothing factory. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors are a brother, Carl Smith of Bonham, and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, husband, five brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
