COOKEVILLE - Funeral services for Katie Ward Russell, 94, of Cookeville will be held Saturday, November 24, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home in Oxford, Mississippi. Burial will be in Christian Rest Cemetery. Mrs. Russell died Tuesday November 20, 1990 in Cookeville General Hospital. Born July 16, 1896 in Oxford, she was the daughter of the late John Abner and Alice Waits Ward. She was a homemaker. Her family includes two daughters, Alice Steel of Cookville and Dorothy Chipley of Ashville, NC; 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Whitson Funeral Home today, November 21, after 3 p.m. and at Waller Funeral Home in Oxford November 23 after 5 p.m. The family requests that flowers be sent to Waller Funeral Home. Whitson Funeral Home will be in charge of local arrangements.
