Bio

Dr. Allen Jones was the eldest son of the late Dr. Jones and a grandson of the late Governor Roberts. Dr. Jones was born and reared in Tyler, but left the area ten years prior to his death. Dr. Jones was killed in a shooting accident at D'Hanis, Texas, on December 17, 1915. He was survived by his widow, who is a sister of Jeff Ray of Tyler; one brother; and two sisters. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery. [Tyler Daily Courier Times, December 18th and 20th, 1915]
