A9) Toby Ray Placek Central Avenue Toby Ray Placek, 24, of Central Avenue died at 8:35 p.m. Saturday, July 17, 1999, at the home of his mother and stepfather. Mr. Placek was a former IUPUC student. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Myers Funeral Service, Hathaway--Myers Chapel on Pearl Street. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday. Burial will be at Butlerville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Jennings County. Mr. Placek was born July 20, 1974, in Barstow, Calif., the son of Pam Weidman Denton of North Vernon and the late Don Placek. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Pam and Jim Denton of North Vernon; a sister, Mindee Placek of North Vernon; half sisters, Carrie and Whitney Gosselin, and a half brother, Zachary Placek, all of Ritzville, Wash.; grandparents, Lowel and Janet Weidman of Elizabethtown and Ray and Carrie Placek of Columbus; and a stepgreat-grandfather, Walter Bright of Columbus. A9) Service Toby Ray Placek Funeral for Toby Ray Placek, 24, of Central Avenue was conducted Wednesday at Myers Funeral Service, Hathaway-Myers Chapel, with the Rev. Mark E. Jones officiating. Special music was provided by Paul and Sherry Castetter. Burial was at Butlerville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ron Weidman, Jeremy Clark, Mike Stein, Joey Harden, Chris Eakins and Andy Rea. Mr. Placek died Saturday, July 17, 1999, at the home of his mother in North Vernon.
