Bio

Robert "Bob" A. Walter, 81, of Richmond, died Monday, April 16, 2007. Mr. Walter served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He graduated from John Marshall High School and then from the University of Virginia. He was a devoted lifetime member of Highland Park United Methodist Church until its closure in November 2006. He worked for the Bank of Virginia and retired from Reynolds Metals (Alcoa). Bob enjoyed many years as a volunteer for the Carillon Civic Association and CASA of Richmond. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Bernice H. Walter; two children, Mary Bircher and her husband, Craig of Omaha, Neb. and Eugene "Butch" Walter and his wife, Elizabeth "Libba" of Richmond; four grandchildren; and a brother, Eugene A. Walter and his family.
