Bio

George Martin Hahmann 72, of Lorena, Texas, passed away at a local hospital Sunday, January 2, 2011. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday January 6, at Mooreville United Methodist Church, 206 FM 2643, in Chilton, with Rev. Denise Luper officiating. Burial will follow at Cottonwood Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Pecan Grove Funeral Home. George was born in Falls County, Texas, to the late George and Olga Hahmann. George was a Chilton High School graduate. He worked as a farmer and rancher in his early years for Callan Ranch, and then worked for Central Freight Lines for 32 years. He loved animals and loved to cook. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. George was a member of Mooreville United Methodist Church for many years. He was preceded in death by his brother, Henry Hahmann. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; daughters, Janice Reed and husband, Robert, Dianna Henderson and husband, Gordon, and Georgia Atkinson; grandchildren, T.J. Reed, and fiancée, Brittany, Kelli Edwards, Lucas Reed, Nathan Henderson and wife, Lacy, Brandon Henderson and wife, Billie, Jeffrey Henderson, Analyssa Atkinson, and Tyler Atkinson; great-grandchildren, Preslea Edwards, Ethan Meadows, and special little buddy, Jake; and many other loving family members and friends.
