Daughter of Peter P. Hoffman and Ursula V. Ingle. Second wife of Thomas Settle Groome (1st marriage-married 7 Apr 1920 per NC Marriages record on familysearch.org) Wife of Benjamin Mason Hoffman (2nd marriage-married 15 Oct 1937 per NC Marriages record on familysearch.org and divorced in June 1945 per Greensboro newspaper article.) Mother of Homer H. Groome The October 27, 1972 edition of the Greensboro [NC] Record included: Mrs. Florence Hoffman Groome, 80, of 222 College Place, died yesterday in Greensboro Convalescent and Nursing Center where she had been a patient for more than three months. Funeral will be tomorrow 3:30 p.m. at Hanes-Lineberry North Elm Street Chapel with Rev. Eugene C. Ensley, pastor of Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Groome was a native of Alamance County and had been a Greensboro resident since 1920. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant. Survivors include sisters,Mrs. Emma Moody and Mrs. Grace Bryan both of Burlington; a step-daughter, Mrs. Helen Dees of Myrtle Beach S.C.; stepsons, Thomas Groome of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Irvin Groome of Atlanta, Ga., and George Groome of Florida.
