Bio

Larry Edward Haskovec, 55, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Baylor Medical Center of Dallas. Larry was born in Ennis to Eddie Edward and Irene Pauline (Marek) Haskovec on July 13, 1955. Larry grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1973. On April 5, 1975 he married Theresa Praslicka and they made their home in Waxahachie. Larry worked for Elk Company for thirty-one years as a Maintenance Supervisor and as Maintenance Technical Advisor. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Waxahachie, KJT, KC and SOKOL. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Haskovec; two daughters: Misty and her husband, Jeff Allen and Tracie and her husband, Lonnie Wood; three grandchildren: Morgan, Ashton and Peyton; one sister, Jean Vavra and three nieces: Michelle Papke, Lisa Deacon and Kristi Hammond. He is preceded in death by his parents. A celebration of Larry's life will take place on Monday, January 3, 2011 at St. John Catholic Church of Ennis at 10 a.m. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 2, 2011 from 4 until 6 p.m. with Rosary at 5 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Pallbearers will be: Danny Strunc, Jim Ed Underwood, G.T. Morton, Mark Sanders, Steve Marek and Brandon Hroza. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
