Bio
Betty Jane Sieber was born to LeRoy C. and Lillian E. (VandeMark) Garman on January 25, 1924, at Torrington, WY. She died at Fairview Manor in Fairmont, NE, on December 13, 2024, at the age of 100 years, 10 months, and 19 days. Betty graduated from Veteran, WY, high school in 1941. On September 1, 1942, she was married to Richard John Sieber at Scottsbluff, NE. They moved to a farm near Ohiowa, NE, and raised a family. In 1976, she moved to the town of Ohiowa. Betty did volunteer work for Blue Valley Community Action in Geneva, NE, for 10 years. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, visiting with friends, her vegetable garden, and fishing, especially in Wisconsin where she spent several weeks every summer. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; and sister, Anna. She is survived by her children, Richard L. (Bernice) Sieber, Dianna L. (Mike) Whetstone, Daniel L. (Debbie) Sieber, David L. Sieber, and Debra L. (Phil) Flehr; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. It was Betty's wish to be cremated and there will be a private committal of ashes at Glengary Pioneer Cemetery at a later date.
